Is my file uploaded to a server?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly — your file never leaves your device. You can verify this in your browser's DevTools Network tab.

Is the redacted content really gone?

Yes. Redacted pages are re-rendered as an image with the boxes burned in, so the underlying text and images are removed from the file — not just covered. This cannot be undone after download.

Can it find sensitive data automatically?

Yes — search any text to redact every match, or auto-detect common patterns like emails, phone numbers, credit cards, and SSNs. All detection runs in your browser.
